Home » About TiE New Delhi

The Delhi Chapter of TiE, one of the biggest and most vibrant of the TiE chapters, has unique significance. It seeks to engage not only with entrepreneurs but also with policy makers in order to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. It seeks to become the bridge that would connect Indian government and industry with successful Indian entrepreneurs across the world, many of whom are regarded as thought leaders.

TiE New Delhi conducts over 30 events every year covering aspects of entrepreneurship like funding & finance, marketing and sales, expanding into new geographies and business & organization management.

TiE New Delhi’s members represent a diverse set of industries, including high technology software, hardware, health care, biotech, media, telecom, IT enabled services, consulting organizations, financial and legal institutions.

Today TIE is recognized as a major force in Delhi. The public and the government have responded favourably towards TiE and the chapter has seen senior bureaucrats, ministers endorsing TiE’s philosophical framework through their active participation in the Chapter’s activities. This has led to other industry organizations initiating relationships with the Chapter specifically for the Small and Medium Enterprise segment. It has excellent links with other Industry Chambers such as NASSCOM, STPI, MAIT, Retailers Association of India (RAI) and FICCI etc. Its charter members include the who’s who from fields such as IT, Telecom, Media, Consultancy Financial and Legal institutions and the older, more established industries.

The Delhi Chapter of TiE has played a great role in catalyzing the spirit of entrepreneurship in Northern India. It has also had a major role in impacting Government policy in a direction that would encourage entrepreneurship, innovation
and wealth creation. Some of its achievements have been :

  1. Five highly successful TiEcon’s that attracted over 1200 people at each event, featured eminent speakers from Government and Industry such as the Finance Minister, Chief Minister, and several Secretaries. Leading entrepreneurs and Industrialists from India, names, TiE Luminaries such as C K Prahalad, Kanwal Rekhi, Desh Deshpande, Suhas Patil etc.
  2. Our impact on public policy has been significant.

    d. As a result of our efforts, several TiE charter members (both of the Delhi Chapter and from the US) are on many of the appropriate government committees.
  3. The Delhi Chapter has played a major role in supporting and helping to seed other Chapters in the North such a Chandigarh, Kanpur (UP), Patna (Bihar) etc. We have made numerous trips and have representatives from these regions visiting us to seek guidance and help.
  4. We have had a wide array of monthly and other meetings with talks by leaders of Indian Industry and visiting TiE charter members on a range of topics such as IT, Bio-technology, Media and Entertainment, IT Enabled Services, HR issues, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, etc.
