A unique initiative has been taken by some of the TiE, New Delhi Charter Members. Representative of the social aspect of Tie, inspired by the spirit of giving back to society, The India Sponsor Foundation has been launched.

It is one of India's premier information portals. It is the brainchild of a group of IT entrepreneurs and managed by a team of professionals who come from diverse backgrounds with wide ranging experience in the social development sector. They are ably supported by qualified Programme Assistants.

The Foundation aims to accelerate the pace of social development in India by supporting innovative grass root organizations that offer transparency and scalability. It works with organizations that have committed people and well defined mission goals in the areas of Children, Gender, Old Age, Health, Environment, Disability, Education, Income Generation, Rural Issues and Technology, Disaster, Advocacy and Integrated Development.

Its current partners are located in Delhi, Uttraanchal, West Bengal and Gujarat (where organizations involved in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the state are being supported).

India Sponsor plans to exploit its technology advantage and e network to improve the visibility and access of organizations with a similar mission. It provides the corporate sector an opportunity to participate in India's social development by supporting projects of NGOs or initiate community development programmes. The possibilities of collaboration with its NGO partners include

Marketing artisan products
Providing Resources such as stationary, space, or computers
Giving employees the opportunity to volunteer their managerial skills and time
Incorporating a scheme offering a percentage of each employee's salary towards supporting a social endeavour
Promoting the benefits of science and technology to the marginalised section through training and scholarships
Supporting computer education of disadvantaged children
Providing direct livelihood to the disabled
Donating share certificates
Providing help in disaster

The greatest need is to increase the velocity of the good work being done.
The Foundation is working towards building an organization that is robust, lasting, and self-sustaining. It needs your help and support in this endeavour.
